From
the City of Sausalito website: "yacht harbors thick with white masts,
restaurants and hotels built out over the water, unique shops, original art
galleries, and grand promenades with San Francisco views."
What better place to enjoy than one of the best little seaside locations on
the coast of California? There are hotels in which to stay, plenty of
dining and shopping venues for a wide variety of tastes and ample nightlife
to enjoy. You could simply sit on the shore and listen to the barking sea
lions as they chide the swooping gulls. You could watch the endless parade
of sail- and power boats as they glide effortlessly through the chilly
waters of San Francisco Bay. Or you could send your gaze out to The Rock…
and contemplate the aging hulk of Alcatraz and its long and colorful list of
tenants.
Just a short ways inland there are ample opportunities for hiking and
biking; Sausalito is close to Muir Woods and Mt. Tamalpais where there are
ageless and giant redwoods that waiting to offer their breathtaking beauty
as well as their shade and serenity.
No matter whether you choose to be actively engaged in exercise or simply
wish to listen to the water lap against the shore as you wait for your glass
of wine and an appetizer, Sausalito is always a marvelous destination – make
sure to make it yours!

Wine Tasting in Sonoma
Valley: Part I
Daylight was fading, but I had remembered my sister mentioning the name
St. Francis. Not much farther to the north along Highway 12 --
actually listed as being located in Santa Rosa -- |

Sausalito
My last visit to Sausalito was many years ago
when my sister brought my mother and me there one sunny day to enjoy an
incredible breakfast followed by some shopping. Consisting of some
indescribably delicious Eggs Benedict at a marvelous hotel called the
Miramar, up on the hill and overlooking the bay, it was a scene almost
right out of a movie... |
