Santa Barbara

Located about 2 hours north of Los Angeles and snuggled comfortably between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the picturesque Pacific Ocean lies what some refer to as the American Rivera because of its Mediterranean climate. It took me until I was 18 years old to get my first look at this incredible jewel of a city, basking in sunshine and abounding with natural resources, but I will never forget it – or its beauty.

Home originally to the Chumash Indians, the area that now includes Santa Barbara, California saw a merger with Spanish, Mexican and North American influence in the mid-19th century. Today, residents and visitors alike enjoy more than just the warm weather, hot and cold springs and relaxing atmosphere. Unique circumstances that created the Santa Barbara of today make it a premier resort steeped in history and offering a wealth of cultural and recreational opportunities. Stroll uncrowded beaches, check out world-class theater, parks and historic attractions as well as gourmet dining and endless shopping. Visit the nearby and scenic Channel Islands or one of the many wineries that produce some of California’s finest wines. Whatever you seek, you will find it here in a perfect year ’round vacation land!
